Is It Spontaneous?
The connections to any brain area come from a lot of different places, and only some of those connections are going to have been disrupted by the loss of the limb. And so you could imagine that maybe that spontaneous activity occurs because of the inputs that still exist, that are coming from other places. Ah, you know, sometimes you get,you know, just by random chance. Abeyou get close enough to am a, to the threshold for producing a spike of electrical signals, that it just happens without there being any particular input like that,.
