How Did Romans Deal With Slavery?
The Romans came down hard on spartacus and his army. They scared the thoughts of rebellion out of any other slave for many years to come. If you felt a e was somebody who might run away, then something really nasty, but apparently not that uncommon, you could do is put a slave collar around their neck. When i show students, and we have, you know, this inscription comes from a slave collar that we have. You can go to museums and see them, along with manacles as well.
