Each of the three soul parts minds its own business and does its own function properly. The longings, when it's functioning well, does on business, which is breathing. They've got their sort of organic role in a integrated psyche. But it's not that they have nothing to do with each other. And i think that's how you need to think about a plato's claim about the parts of the soul doing their own thing.
