The Economic Outlook of Equatorial Guinea
Exxon is not going to renew this particular license in 2026, according to reports. That doesn't mean they won't potentially get involved in gas exploration or perhaps they have other licenses that will carry on. Equatorial Guinea didn't even export for the month of May as these different reserves start drying up and new production does not come online. So I think we've seen the oil industry really on the downward trajectory. The country is facing a period of potential instability depending on how these questions get answered.
