I don't think that sleep deprivation is something that can be trained. I do think that from a perceptual standpoint, it's important to understand how you operate in those conditions. And so some sleep deprived or overnight types of sessions when they're done in a smart fashion where you're not compromising the overall training load can be smart. The second thing is actually you can combat that on the front end. This is actually very well established research where you can sleep bank and the experts will bat around whether or not that's the terminology. But essentially you're just sleeping for longer in the week leading to a race."
