You Can't Tell Jokes, You Know, That's All Right
I had a strong feeling that these children were rebels without a cause. They could have had everything. And I found it very hard to see what they were rebelling against and I couldn't see what they had that was going to replace it or that was better. It's an extent that we still talk of the counterculture, even though it's a counterculture. There's always countercultures throughout history. This is the only one that phrasing is the counterculture is very telling. You can see the self-first framing of it in a different light today.
