Unify's Golden Profile: A Strategic Asset
Unify is serving the purpose of bringing together these different data sources and combining them into this one cohesive view of the customer through their profile. Traits can break down into a few different categories, including raw traits like user's name or what billing plan they're on. And then there are computed traits, so things like total lifetime orders or average order size. There's an advanced identity graph that we are helping our customers build under the hood.
Summary
Every business has customers, and a critical element of success is understanding who they are and how they are using the companies products or services. The challenge is that most companies have a multitude of systems that contain fragments of the customer's interactions and stitching that together is complex and time consuming. Segment created the Unify product to reduce the burden of building a comprehensive view of customers and synchronizing it to all of the systems that need it.
