The New Economics in the Early 60s
The new economics of the early 60s wasn't new in academia at all. It dated basically from Keynes' fantastic book in 1936. What was new was promulgating it as part of national economic policy. To Eisenhower running a budget deficit, which is what you'll get if you cut taxes, was an immoral thing to do.
