The Effects of Engraftment on the Microbiome

Fecal transplants do an amazing job for recognizing the gut and eradicating that organism. We still don't exactly know what is in the mix of poo that is doing it. But there's no interventions currently that have been shown to modulate the microbiome in a way that would either improve their symptoms or potentially reverse the condition. People are looking at, okay, what if you intervene and get pre-treat with diet first? You kind of prime the gut with a supportive diet and then you give a fecal transplant or post transplant supportive diets.
