The Universal Christ Archetype in Science Fiction

The Jesus Christ story becomes central to the Roman Catholic Church because it is a way of um taming Roman culture. In recent decades we have Star Wars Luke Skywalker as a semi-messianic figure coming through the hero's journey heroes of a thousand face evisives and Joseph Campbell he's drawing on all those great Christ myths to formulate that idea.
