The Problem With Designing to the Minority of Players

I had trouble being scared by that game because of the level design. I think if you removed those close couple of boxes or whatever, it would be too difficult for most players to evade the enemy. There's a degree of magical thinking as well in game design. So much of like GDC design wisdom is bollocks. We invented after the fact and you often get this kind of self repeating stuff.
