It's isometric contraction if you're not in the phase of going into or out of the pose. In Uttanasana, they would say it often and actually for forward bends. But technically that's just a yoga-ism. You're not hugging the muscle closer to the bone. Like that's not actually. No, but you're engaging that muscle more.
