Afghanistan has been a deeply impoverished country for as long as I've known it. The Taliban have added these new hurdles that women can no longer work in the aid agencies who are delivering urgently needed aid. Some 28 million Afghans depend on this aid, but if you want to deliver aid to women, it has to be done by women. Amina Muhammad believes she made some progress on this visit - not to reverse the ban, like this one, but to work concretely to say, what about agriculture?
