There's a historical basis for this, right? With the end of the civil rights movement, the war on drugs, or as what i call the war on communities. And with the introduction of massive legislation to push forward the most violent civil and human rights assaults of our lifetime,. Also came a wave of research and data that sought to warehouse these communities into prisons. I think it got prime time during the last election, but unfortunately, there wasn't really a broader conversation around how this myth is still persistent.
