CPD is one of the top three causes of inflammatory arthritis. It includes several different diseases, including osteoarthritis with calcium pyrophosphate deposition. There's also a chronic inflammatory CPP arthritis that has historically been called pseudorheumatoid arthritis. OA with CPPD can be characterized by very large sub-conjunct cysts.
