The d r f has a much richer output listing. There's enough depth there that if you need to introduce new fields or do something custom, it doesn't handcuff you. The only place that the d r f makes me really, really nervous and is the permission mechanism. It's fine by default, but then as soon as you start mucking with it a little bit, it seems to open up a whole bunch of things. You have to make sure, once you start playing in that space, that you do it correctly and test properly,. otherwise you could have gaping holes.
