How Research Progresses?

We have an idealized view of how research occurs. Human behavior is much more important to terminant of how research progresses. I think it's the ideas might outlive the people because of fads. And so i hope that, particularly in these days, we can sustain an environment where people are allowed to bring forward non conventional theories.
