The Grassroots
The Grassroots changed their name to Love after Lou Adler yelled at them for not showing him the proper respect. The newly renamed Love were now playing regularly at Bido Lito's, a small venue where they were so popular that the crowd was overflowed into the street. They would always open with a version of Howling Wolf's Blues Classic, Smoke Stack Lightning which would extend into a long improvised jam.
