Is It a Moot Point to Train a Calf?
Dr. Steele is one of the primary researchers looking at failure training and specifically the benefits of failure training. He can be seen as like a bare bones guy for the most part who goes mostly, you know, single sets, relatively low frequencies. And so he's very clued in on research methods but his interpretation is based on sort of what's the smallest effect size that you care about. With my own training I'd rather be even if it's a small game instead of trying to optimize outcomes.
