How to Book a Partner Award on Alaska Airlines and British Airways

We booked the foreign business and one in economy. Then, OK, fifth seat opens up after we have the four booked in business. And so we tried changing the economy to business. And it looked like it worked. But then we got a call a couple of days later that, oh, no, actually it never did get confirmed even though the agent said it was confirmed. It's backed down into economy. So you've got to be kidding me. We're flying British Airways now. Right?
