How Can Laser Light Twist Space?

According to Einstein by folding space you can fold time and travel through time. Ron thinks that you might be able to do it using circulating beams of laser light. This is based on another one of Einstein's theories that light can affect gravity. So as I'm twisting space I can twist time into a loop and along that loop in time I could travel back into the past. That's Ron's theory but how can we test it? It will happen when there's adequate funding for it to happen.
