The Importance of Strength and Conditioning in Running

There's ignorance around how much we burn at rest, so our resting metabolic rate can be tested. In the endurance community runners, triathletes, for example, it's well established that there's a weight to power relationship. You cannot perform at your best if you're energy deficient. Strength and conditioning is not as black and white as saying everyone needs to be in a gym. For those who typically want to push themselves along, then they need heavier loads to induce the tissue strength their body needs.
