A Foreshadowing of the Temple
The temple is a site of like provision of the Lord on a grand scale. Nothing is sacrificed there that isn't first provided by God. It's just sort of like this foreshadowing of a place of sacrifice. If you go to the temple mount now, the temple has been destroyed. You can still go to the ruins and see stones that were like thrown from the top during the destroying of the temple.
