The Importance of Listening to Your Body

Normal food is still the best thing to fuel the body, especially at these ultra endurance events. But there's always the athlete that is not absorbing it. It sits in their gut where they just don't have the taste for it after a while. I was doing great in my iron mat and then at like mile six in the marathon I started throwing up. You had 25 gels. This is great to show. Again, you need to be connected with your body and listen to it. If you slow down and really embrace and stay present in your training and are there to listen to what your body is telling you,. That's a skill.
