The Flash-Lag Illusion
The Flash-Lag Illusion was first noticed in the 1920s. It's a simple visual illusion that ended up opening big doors for my understanding of time. What we think happened in some moment depends on what happens after that moment. The key is that your brain continues to collect information and it retrospectively says what it thinks is moving backwards.
