There was a decade of controversy over whether or not there is nero genesis in humans. A study published last year proved that it does happen, but only after childhood. The technique used to prove this involves using antibodies against proteins known to be expressed in new born nerons and in animals. But if they are not detecting temerature, then the research isn't being done properly.
