The Politics of Taxing the Rich
I think even Xi Jinping could take a bit of a populist turn and turn that into something of a political win. What's sort of striking to me is thus far as of 2023, they just show no creativity in trying out these solutions. I mean, why don't you go after the rich? Those are people that are connected, right? But again, if going back to if the reason why people keep talking about the property tax is it's going to net a lot of revenues, it's hard to actually have that based on a very narrow tax base. And that's difficult.
