Is There a Sanction for a False Charge?
There's that instinct too, on both sides that liberalism has failed. The one thing that makes me very pessimistic is that there is no sanction for a false charge. Most of the people I talked to about this are very bright people who can defend their position and defend it with vigor,. But they don't want to because it's not worth it to them. Even though the other side is making disingenuous arguments, the charge that they're making is so toxic that it could potentially ruin their life.
