Is There Any Kind of Horror Story With Offsite Backups?

A lot of times issues can arise, like you said, because of the host itself. Many hosts, when they offer backups, those backups are stored on the exact same server as your site. So even with my own, like people that are hosted on me, I still do backups offsite. That's another thing that some of the other ones might not tell you about that, you know, your backup's not actually a safety net, right for the whole host.
