The Puritan community in Virginia was devastated by the murder of their neighbors. The victims were found innocent, but had to make confessions and ask for forgiveness from those they'd wronged. They would sit next to each other on church pews so that enemies sat with friends. After 14 years one woman made a confession about what she'd done; her family forgave her.
