God and the Mind in His Image

As Willard Ortberg was dying to pink reatic cancer, he refused any narcotics or pain medication because he wanted to be fully alert for his passage into eternity. The mind has a power unlike anything in all of the universe to free your whole person to the heights of human possibility or to drown and imprison you in a living hell. As Milton famously said in Paradise Lost, the mind is its own place and in itself can make a heaven of hell or a hell of heaven. We are in week three of a six part teaching series called God and the whole person, soul, mind and body in his image.
