The Unusual Invalid
The faking of a disability is one of the most problematic things in popular culture. I believe it fits with Poreau's character that he he was always about a means to an end. But yes, it's a difficult read. And this idea of the useless invalid, he's got no value. Especially around disabled people who aren't able to work or have to work shorter hours.
