Some children's Bibles say that Jesus isn't necessarily the central story of the Bible. "I don't take a sort of Christocentric reading of the Bible, but it's probably better said as Christotelic," he says. The Old Testament has a narrative about Abraham and Abraham's family; then when it arrives at Jesus, he is the actor that sort of grabs hold of the human narrative that's failed.
