This is what computers before, because yeah, probably by eye, you could do a few matches here and there. The number of combinations possible must be like you couldn't just check them all. You still need some clever mathematics and algorithms to be able to go through. What this reminds me of is like buying a house in a chain. It's not like you sign a contract in advance and work it all out on the same day.
