The Immensity of Space

I wonder what you think it is about the grandiosity of certain places, whether it's the cathedral or perhaps even being out in nature. Is it as simple as we feel quite small or is it that there's something different going on in the architecture that elicits that feeling? We've looked specifically at that and I know that Keltner has as well. And I think part of that is that we are, that all is elicited by different kinds of immensity. But a colleague who regularly elicits all responses from me because listening to him is like standing in a cathedral.
