How to Counter the Problem of Obvious Design

How do we counter this problem or this issue of oblivious design? We don't know where technology is going to be, let alone 10 years from now. I think empathy is a hugely impactful emotion and as we can build it, it really helps us build things that have our users' best interests in mind. This idea of awareness certainly is pretty great. Also just making some really conscious design decisions that were user-centric.
