A Neutron Star That Spins Rapidly Will It Survive for Longer Than That?
A lot of people think about a neutron star that isn't spinning as a perfect sphere then you would say okay well if i make my neutron star more massive and it spins faster won't the poles be even more compressed. There was real confusion on whether the earth would be flattened at the poles or actually pointed at the poles because of its um going around spinning. Why can a more massive neutron star that spins rapidly survive for longer than that same mass neutron star if it weren't spinning? It's a very interesting way to to think about that. Maybe maybe once that gets up to like two million neutron star mergers we'll have a handful, he says.
