Subversion Is 20 Years Old, but Its Influence Is Still Out There
Subversion is 20 years old this year, and jim doesn't want us to use it. But its influence is still out there. A question i wanted to ask jim was, if subversion was addressing shortcomings in c v s, what were the shortcomings in subversion that get address? You know how, you know how git uses content hashes to identify file contents and to identify directory contents. And those hash are really essential to the distributed nature of git. It means that basically, if you've got data, it doesn't matter how you got that data, everybody tell that you've got this branch.
