The Importance of Beauty in Poetry
There are five books in Boethius and then each book has somewhere between eight to twelve sections. So you're looking somewhere of thirty, forty poems in this book that condemns poetry at the outset. There's a value to poetry but it's that the poet, the muses that meet Boethius in the beginning are not tied to truth. They are only the emotion and so they keep him in sadness while philosophy has to come and give him truth that he can't accept.
