I don't think these problems today are that hard to overcome, but it will require the Prime Minister to sit down with the key people and just work it until it's done. I was very struck by how difficult it is when one side celebrates. It must be enraging when you've done something very, very controversial, quite subtle, made a huge concession to one community that's going to alienate another. And then instead of them taking that concession quietly and sort of responsibly, they're out on the street doing a huge party and rubbing it in the other side's face.
