stephen mitchell told you then that he did not translate poems. He was a translator. Hes got thee's a book on rilke and biwright. Hadn't done this poem, and he said he wasn't doing any more. Ye. It's his translation of letters to a young poet, and his translation of doud ching that i have loved so much over the years. Ah, ha, ha, that's wonderful to see now that he does, he does. I was fortunate enough to get to talk to him once for this show, and he does know that.

Joanna Macy is an environmental activist, author, a scholar of Buddhism, general systems theory, and deep ecology. She has written and co-authored many books, including translating much of Rilke’s work
