Steve Cohen's Divorce - A Case Study
Patricia Cohen accused her former husband of hiding millions of dollars in assets at the time of their divorce more than 20 years ago. She originally sought $300 million in damages, but an amended complaint filed in 2010 seeks only about 10 million. Patricia's lawsuit then whittled down to a fight over whether Steve had concealed five and a half million dollars back in that 88, 90 period was eventually dismissed in 2016. Earlier this year he agreed to settle charges related to malfeasance during his time running SAC capital,. The firm pleaded guilty to insider trading charges and paid a record breaking $1.8 billion fine in 2013.
