The Two Agent Natures: Heat and Cold

In a dramatic shift away from the Aristotelian tradition, Telezio recognizes bodily matter, heat and cold, as substances. He thinks that all the more complex natures that arise in matter are accidental to it. More complicated phenomena arise thanks to the stars, especially the sun. As they move over the earth, the increased heat in the affected parts of earth causes them to transform into vapors, fluid, metals, and stones.
