Tolkin's Language Invention

After his mother's death, Tolkin went to live with a friend of his mother's. His studies also continued at this point, and he became fully immersed in languages. Around the age of 20, he went to switzerland, which he himself noted was basically the inspiration for the misty mountains that bilbo later journeyed across. Tolkan hiked from interlochin to lautebrunen, and they camped in the moraines. He loved seeing the snows on the mountains and the glaciers. And he said later that this landscape was alive in his dreams.
