The Evolution of Jumping Spiders

Jumping spiders are the most diverse family of spiders on the planet. At around 6,000 described species, they account for nearly 15% of all spiders. They use their silk for little cocoons that they sleep in and to wrap egg masses. Their jumping is used in combination with their eyes for their prey capture behavior.
