The single highest priority of my job role is to surprise and delight guests. As the supervisor as the leader, you need to have credibility yourself in order for any of this to work. You can measure how does that translate into the sale of cups and bowls of coconut curry soup. And I bet if it's good soup that it will more than offset what you're giving away in order to fulfill the higher purpose of the job role.
