Bram's Birthday
Bram's thirteenth birthday would be celebrated by all the dwarves who weren't too busy in the mines. He felt terrible lying to his father, and he knew he'd have to keep it up until he was lying to everyone. Still, better to be a liar than for people to think he was just some kid who couldn't grow a beard. They finished breakfast and walked together towards the center of crag water. There was a place where all the caves and tunnels opened into a giant chamber. Waterfalls flowed from secret openings and fell hundreds of glittering feet to disappear into the depths below. A great carved statue of a beard marked their town square - full of shops and stadiums
