Blind Bartimaeus - The One Who Was Sent
Think of the sieve on his eyes as being washed in the pool of Siloam, and then the man is restored to sight. By baptism, we are immersed in Christ, the one who was sent by the Father. This is about the beginning of the spiritual journey if you want. Think of a parallel story of blind Bartimaeus: Remember sitting by the walls of Jericho? It's his encounter with Christ that gives him vision.
