Black History Month, Michael Moynihan

Moynihan: W.E.B. Du Bois was instrumental in helping to bring about Black History Month, which started as Black History Week. He says the dignity of any person is rooted in their humanity and that to make the argument for your dignity on the wrong basis or some preposterous idea that you have to earn your place I think is gross. Moynihan: One of his crowning achievements is helping to create the kind of world that we live in today where people still confidently thump their chests and profess themselves as Black or White.
