Napoleon's Counter-Attacks

Napoleon's plan depended on speed and audacity. If the attack stalled, the allies would rush more units to the heights. Many of these russian and austrian regiments who found themselves in the centre during sult's attack fought very well. Several french units suffered heavy casual ies in almost two hours of furious fighting. But it was no use. Saintilar's division held on and continued to press the attack.
